Gears grind

People at TriggerStreet have asked to read my "By the Book" outline. Outside of TriggerStreet, a local producer wants me to rewrite his script for a co-writer credit. I'm not sure I'll do it just for credit, but if he plans to shoot it.... I'll look at his synopsis and decide.

Looks like 2006 might be a fruitful year.

Bonus update on the near miss:

The FAA replied to my query about the possible near miss I saw. As a result of my e-mail, the organization has opened an investigation and they promise to keep me in touch.

Is TriggerStreet worth it?

I think it is. You can't do the screenwriting thing in a vacuum. In "Crafty Screenwriting", Alex advises you to have people read your stuff and cover it - send you notes.

Obviously, the best coverage comes from those in te business, but you don't want to hand your stuff off to those in the business before it is ready.

The next level down of readers is other writers, and other screenwriters will help better than any other kind of writer.

That's where TriggerStreet comes in. THere's a wide spread of talent, sure, but off the cross-section of reads you'll get, some will help immensely. You really get to pinpoint where your stuff goes awry, or goes great.

Additionally, I've made several contacts. I'm definitely further ahead in the game in the nine months or so I've actively participated. And it's free, so you have nothing to lose.
